About Rack to Run
Network engineer, hands-on installer, and the person who actually shows up.
Hi, I'm Mat.
I'm a network engineer based in Salem with more than 10 years in the field. I've spent that time on both sides of the job: pulling and terminating cable, mounting gear and running installs, and designing, configuring and supporting business and enterprise networks for companies and MSPs. Switching, routing, firewalls, wireless and VLANs are my everyday work.
You get one person who can rack, hang and mount the equipment and also set up the network it runs on. I work with whatever fits the job, from consumer gear in a home office to enterprise equipment across a commercial site.
I take the details seriously. Cable gets dressed and labeled, racks are left clean and organized, and everything is documented for the next person who opens that closet.

Common questions
Do you charge for quotes?
No. Walkthroughs and quotes are free.
Do you supply the equipment, or do I buy it?
Either way works. We can supply everything, or you can buy it yourself and we'll tell you exactly what to get.
Are there monthly fees?
No. There are no subscriptions on the systems we install, and you own all of the equipment and accounts.
Do you only work with certain brands?
No. We work with whatever fits the job and the budget.
Do you work on homes or just businesses?
Both. Home networks, WiFi and cameras get the same care as a business install.
What areas do you serve?
We're based in Salem and serve all of Northeast Ohio, including Youngstown, Canton, Akron and Cuyahoga Falls.
How soon can you get started?
As soon as possible. We try to make every customer feel like a priority.
Can you work after hours or on weekends?
Yes. If it keeps your business running during the day, we're happy to work evenings and weekends.
How does payment work?
It depends on the job. Larger jobs usually require a deposit up front, and the payment terms are spelled out in your quote.
Are you insured?
Yes. Rack to Run LLC carries liability insurance, and a certificate of insurance is available on request. If your job or your GC needs to be listed as additional insured, just ask.
Do you warranty your work?
Yes. Our labor and workmanship are warrantied for 90 days. Equipment is covered by the manufacturer's warranty, and we can help with warranty claims, RMAs, replacements and ordering.
What happens after the install?
You get your logins, a network diagram and full ownership of everything. If you need help later, reach out by phone, text or email. Support is billed as needed.
Can you connect a building that's too far to run cable to?
Yes. A wireless point to point link can connect a shop, barn, garage or second building without trenching. We look at the distance and line of sight during the walkthrough and recommend what fits.
Can you work on a system someone else installed?
Yes. We can clean up, document and fix existing networks, cameras and wireless, or tell you honestly whether it's worth replacing.
